I know the lovely Leslie is not linking up today for her normal session of confession, but I still need it...
I confess....
1. I have been a bad lawyer this week. I have been unmotivated and well tired. I need sleep and rest... Outlook not to good.
2. I am kind of scared for the TCU/OU game tomorrow... I would love a TCU win, on our home field... but ya never know what team will show up.
3. I have not made a Christmas list and do not really have one. I mean sure there are things I could come up with, but honestly I do not really want anything. World Peace anyone?
4. I learned its ok to screw up as long as you learn from it and don't screw up again.
5. I forget to write all of the people who comment on my blog back... a lot... I'm busy at work and I read ALL you comment, but sometimes I just do not have enough hours to respond, so for those of you who came from Messy Dirty Hair... thanks!!! I loved your comments and love!
6. I organized all the files I am working on right now and may have billed for it... I mean case management is legit right?
7. Lawyers do not know the answers to lots of things, but we are hella good at researching it!
8. I did not have much to confess this week and I could not think of much else to blog about, but yet I blogged anyway... rough week... I blame the days off next week for this week being too long...

It' Ok Thursday
My name is Lynn and its has been two weeks since my last It's Ok Thursday confessional! Forgive me friends, but I have sinned and to need confess.... So here goes, It's Ok.....
to not eat any turkey on Thanksgiving... but copious amounts of pie
that my Christmas tree is still sitting in its box in the middle of the living room
to shop on Black Friday and not buy a thing (the people watching was much more fun)
to eat one small piece of chocolate every day once in while
to blog at work, in bed, on the go... ya get my drift
that I don't know what to ask for for Christmas because I kind of went on a Loft binge a couple weeks ago... but then again the LV catalog came today and Coach now monograms!
I have barely billed this month and don't feel guilty I deserve a small break!
that I am baby crazy and my husband is about to kill me
that I got in bed about 8pm last night so I could blog and watch Nashville (so what if I'm old and boring)
that I think the ipad mini is just stupid
to not care about your toes when you wear tights and heels everyday, right?
to get annoyed when the housekeeper moves my stuff...
to vent, in the car, to know one and look like a crazy lady yelling
to forget you promised to do something but then do it last minute and it turn out great!
to be so ready for a great out of town weekend soon! (close far doesn't matter its a small reprieve from life with friends)

True Life
I am addicted to mindless TV. Ashamed, I know. Highly educated woman who loves Lifetime movies, Gossip Girl, and Grey's! It's the pointless plots, the cheesy script the idiotic twists & turns! I love it! Its mindless, simple, no stress all rolled into a neat 30 or 60 minute package.
It's my escape, my diversion from life. I can become a NYC socialite or a a trashy romance thriller all from the comfort of my home. Yes, ladies, I just love me some "crap" tv as D calls it.
For instance, GG: yes I know how teen, how stupid, but then when SPOILER ALERT Dan gets the call from Georgina and says he is "writing the Serena chapter" I was hooked for another week! I mean come on, how can you not want to see what Lonely Boy has up his devious sleeve.
And let's take Two Broke Girls; Lord I love it! Its crude, obvious humor, but man it just takes away the stress. At no point do I feel the need to write an MSJ or object to anything. Its just funny good stuff going on. Now it does get me that Caroline has IMHO awful hair. Lord get get of the bangs! Max: she is just the person I think I am sometimes, blunt, brutal, honest to a fault.
And I know this is not current, but Friends. Ya know, I can come up with an episode for almost every situation in life. Like last night, the infamous Monica describing the 7 pleasure spots of a woman to Chandler, I can quote it to a T and fit the moment of the convo (yes I know I had a conversation about the g-spot with a friend, a guy no less).
Well, ya get my point. I work long hours, I am stressed to the max, but I am not beneath mindless chatter to relax (or a good glass of champagne and a massage, if anyone wants to send me those!).
Happy TV all!

Tumultuous Love
First, y'all need to stop on by Ms. Messy Dirty Hair herself! I'm featured on her blog, and well I'm giving away some good stuff!
So, I watched the train-wreck AKA Lindsay Lohan in Liz&Dick. I admit, she fit this role... to a "T." Though I admit her playing an older Liz was a bit odd seeing as that she is all of 26 and has had little life experience, especially in love. However, it got me thinking about Love, again yeah I know I'm all about the Love of late.
My thought was is it possible to have a tumultuous love like Liz & Dick? Can two people really have a relationship, a marriage that is good and strong with so much anger? I know all couples have their ups and downs, but is it possible to have a love like Liz & Dick?
Is that a marriage? Is marriage all-encompassing love where you almost love someone so much it hurts, or is it a love so pure you cannot exist with your partner? Does everyone only have one true love? Or can you have the kind of love you have with your spouse more than once? Is it about timing or about actually finding the one person God has picked out for you.
Is love like Liz & Dick? The kind where you cannot live with them and you cannot live without them?
Now I need to vent for a hot minute about Ms. Lohan... I mean the interview she does on Lifetime in the previews for the movie... Lord help me! She apparently "relates" to Elizabeth Taylor with the media and the blah blah blah... GET YOUT SH!T TOGETHER!!! You had everything and you chose to screw up. No one forced you to steal, or drink and drive, or go to rehab! And let's not mention Ms. Taylor had a HUGE career, not a teen fluke who has piddled away her talent!
And.... done. Have a lovely Tuesday y'all.

Weekend Update
Oh what a weekend it was! Food, family, football! I love me some Thanksgiving.
Thursday started with brunch with "adopted" family. Yummy buffet of waffles, seafood, turkey, and dessert! Then on to meal 2 at the in-laws... (Ok so I didn't eat this one, but I saw the food... counts right?). Then FOOTBALL!!!!! Can we talk about my Frogs kicking some UT butt! Go Frogs! It was a great day to be thankful to be a Horned Frog!
Friday was pageant and parading. I did a lil Black Friday shopping, but not the get up all crazy early thing. It was more a leisurely stroll through Grapevine Mills and some Chick-fil-a. Perfect way to start a Friday after Thanksgiving. Then on the Fort Worth Parade of Lights! My girls looked great and we bared the cold to ring in the Holiday season ( i sat warmly in the front seat with the heat on and the butt warmer burning).
Saturday was more pageanting. I had the privilege to judge Miss Duncanville (shout-out to my hometown!). The ladies were great! We had two wonderful winners and I got to see my bestie.
Sunday was a little more BFF time and Rockettes! We ventured to Grand Prairie to see the Christmas Spectacular! Those legs can move people!
All in all it was a whirlwind of activity, but I'm kind of glad for a few more weeks til Christmas. But can I say, Texas get with the program, 80 tomorrow? Come one! Lord, I may never see a white Christmas at this rate.
Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and get ready for the season of lights, giving, and feasting! Welcome Christmas. ( I say this as hubs is currently getting the decor out of the attic.... I type he moves, you all know how this works).

LOVE
I know what love is. I have experienced its power: the passion, the raw emotion, the bond two people share.
I know what its like to walk blindly into Love's trap. To be headed left, when suddenly it steers you right.
I have left it up to God to put me in the hand's of someone who be right behind me no matter what.
Love hits you when you least expect it. Its blinds you, leaves you breathless and asking for more. It is steadfast and its power is awesome beyond words. Its overcomes all odds and defies gravity.

Giving Thanks
I love Thanksgiving. I had this conversationMonday with a lady who was getting ready at the gym along with me. It's perhaps my second favorite holiday, right behind Halloween.
Think about it: a holiday all about the food. No decor, no presents, no pageants, plays, choirs, hub bub, just food. Tons of it. Rows and tables and buffets galore! It's football, naps and feasting. It's family togetherness without the fuss. So give thanks today for the many blessings the Lord has afforded you. Feats at his table and rejoice in all His glory.

My Life as a {MultiView}Wife
I try not to talk about Hubs a lot on here, well other than when I bitch whine and complain brag about him. ( I kid). Well, when I first started blogging he was not keen on the idea. I mean why on earth would I want to write about my personal life and who on earth would want to read about it? He doesn't know us very well does he ladies? He was skeptical of things I wrote, and preferred not to be named, mentioned or photographed.
Well, funny how things come around. My husband's work is a digital media firm called MultiView (come on how does not he not get blogging?) Just so happens the wife of one of his co-workers loves my blog (Hello Annie!) and low and behold, I was asked to guest blog for them! So, what do I the lawyer have to blog about... being a wife!
Hubs works for this pretty awesome company. Casual atmosphere, motivated and creative people... If my office were more like this I might be motivated a little more (just saying if you let me blare music and wear jeans Id be ok with it). So, without further ado, head on over to see what its like for me to be a "MultiView" Wife.

Best Friends
I am blessed. I have three best friends. They fit each of my three personalities.
I've got my best friend since I was 12. We can go month without seeing or taking to each other, yet its like we never parted. She knows me in and out.
I have my best friend from law school. We shared perhaps the toughest three yearsa of our lives and lived to tell about it. She gets me through work and life. She knocks sense into me when I need knocking.
I have my lovely! My beauty queen. She is my rock. She makes me laugh and always has a way of knowing how to cheer me up.
Blessed.

Monday Monday Monday
Yeah I've got a HUGE case of the Mondays!
Perhaps its knowing this is a short week, or that come Thursday I will be stuffing myself with turkey and pie, but I'm not motivated. or maybe it was the depo summary from HE double hockey sticks or the MSJ I need to finish.
Then I thought, maybe it was the lack of sleep from the road trip you took with your bestie to Oklahoma to see another girlfriend rock the stage at Miss Oklahoma USA!
Then we hightailed back across the state line for a full day of pageant training for our girls. Needles to say by the time I got home all I wanted was to lay in a bubble bath and sleep.
5am came way too early today...

Sunday Social
I am thankful for a job where I am challenged daily and surrounded by colleagues I love!
I am thankful for being in shape! I started doing a bootcamp (to change up my normal gym routine) and loved it! I am improving and making great friends.
I am thankful to be loved by a caring man who thinks the world of me. He loves me unconditionally, supports me, and listens to all my crazy ideas and dreams.
I am thankful for the Lord. He works in mysterious ways. I have seen his power and glory and I am constantly amazed. I know he challenges me but only because he has provided me the strength to endure those challenges.
I am thankful for all you. This blogging adventure has given me not only an outlet for thoughts, but afforded me friendships. I have shared life and love with some of you and feel truly blessed to have done so.

If Only
Three words we often put together "I could have" " I should have," but what they really mean is I procrastinated, and didn't. If only.
How many times have you thought, if only. If only I would go to the gym; if only I could make good grades; if only I could have been there, done that, ended up on top. It's what I refer to as the grass is greener syndrome sometimes. If only I could step into the other pasture my life would be so much better.
I'm guilty of this. I've pondered the things in my life I wish I could change, the missed opportunities, the road not taken. I have wallowed in self pity at how I want things to be. I have procrastinated and watched life go by.
Only you can create your own destiny. Only God knows the plan he has for you. Your mission in life is to take hold of every opportunity presented to you. Reach higher, aim farther. If you walk away and think, if only, turn around and run straight into the fear.

Veteran's Day

| Brother and I at TCU game |
Stop for a moment and look around. We live in the land of the free, and all because men and woman around the country decided to put their lives on hold to ensure our freedom. They are brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers. They come from all walks of life, all shapes, colors, and backgrounds. They chose the life for different reasons, but at the end of the day they protect our lives.
I come from a family of vets. All of my uncles served and my brother is an Army guy! I remember when he told my mother and I he was going to enlist after high school. I'm pretty sure my mom did not speak to him for like 2 months. But there he went, 2 weeks after graduation to basis training. My mom bawled. But I think it made my brother and I closer. He wrote me letters. I loved going to the mailbox and seeing those envelopes. I was so proud of him. Although he wasn't far, he seemed miles away.

| At my wedding |
When my brother returned, he decided to use his GI bill to attend college, where else, but TCU. He got in and got into the ROTC program. I was so proud again. My goal was to beat him in the 2-mile run, but never did. It gave me pride to see him post the colors at football games while I twirled behind him with the band.
Today I feel blessed and honored to know and love a former Army man. I am proud beyond belief and words cannot express my gratitude. I was also honored to attend law school with several veterans and had great professors who served. So hug a vet today. Lend them a hand, tell them you are thankful for what they do. And remember they risk their lives to protect ours.

Rock the Vote
It's election day y'all! So, get out, be heard, and vote! I'm a firm believer in if you don't vote, you don't to complain for the next 4 years! In all seriousness, no matter where you live, whether you think your vote counts or not, it does! Remember, its not just the presidential election going on. You've got everything from Congressional seats to local referendums up for grabs. Voting is what differentiates us from the rest of the world. Land of the FREE, home of the brave!
So, get out and go VOTE! Meanwhile, part of me is rather excited that I will no longer be inundated with a plethora of political ads every 30 seconds. Now, excuse me while I get back to work while munching on the wonderful pralines I got in NOLA yesterday! Oh, and that lil oral argument, great!

What Not To Do in NOLA
Ok, so I am currently sitting in my hotel in NOLA, eating Pinkberry. Exciting right? Yeah I know where's my hurricane and beads? Nope I'm here for oral argument in the Fifth Circuit. So rather than partying it up on Bourbon street, I'm watching a Lifetime movie and catching up on case law. Maybe tomorrow after its done, Ill done my party pants and get something yummy! So, if you've got suggestions lay em on me!In other news, how many of you watch Lifetime movies and think how on earth do they come up with stuff? Cause I do! I mean come on, as we speak a mom is arrested for smuggling drugs in Quito.... oh did I mention she was sick with cancer and just dating this random guy who takes her to Quito? I mean come one... Or how about the copious plots that involve teens, drugs, pregnancies or teens killing people? What about the angry girlfriend or crazy nanny? I've decided that Lifetime must put random thoughts in a cup pull out three cards and say voila here's the plot! Though I admit, I may spend entire Sundays watching marathons of these movies. Hubs even gets caught in their web.
