Full Circle
Today is the end of a chapter of my life. Today is my last full and official day at my firm. I admit I cried this morning at the gym then again in the shower and once more over cereal. Its sad, its scary, its just a lot of emotion going on over here.
How do you say farewell to the firm that took a chance on you as a baby lawyer and has helped you grow and learn? To say so long to people who have stood by you as your marriage ended, you bought a house, and tried to find love again? What words do you use to tell them how much they mean to you and you will forever be grateful to them for how they have touched your life.
You will miss the laughs, lunches, cake, the baby talk and all the other in between times when you have made my day livable. Thank you. Thank you for being wonderful colleagues and friends.
I know that I am scared because I have no idea what the future holds, but I know that mine is bright.
The biggest gains come with fear--that's normal. But you're doing something to better you and that's NEVER a bad decision! Go girl!!! So proud of you and happy for you!!! Love ya!!!
ReplyDeleteNow's the time to cry and look back, because it is sad leaving a place that did so much for you. You learned and grew and found out what you wanted and what you needed and now you're stepping out, at better lawyer. You're going to ROCK at your new job, I know it and I'm so proud and happy with the decision you've made, because YOU sound happy! That's the most important part!
ReplyDeleteLove you, BOFF! xoxo
Good luck with whatever it is that you will be pursuing in your future.
ReplyDeleteI felt the exact same way when I came to my new firm three months ago. Change is scary but you will be amazing! Congrats again! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! What an exciting and nerve-wracking time! I can only imagine the feelings you're feeling... but you're going to kick butt! :) I just know it!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...change is always hard...especially when you feel like you're leaving behind something that was good for you. Just remember that something even better lies ahead. Although it takes some work, you can definitely maintain the friendships you established at a previous job! Congrats again on the new job...can't wait to hear how the first day goes for you!
ReplyDeletecheers to new and exciting things in the making even if it is a little sad to leave the familiar!
ReplyDeleteSweet girl, you are SO right. You have a wonderfully bright future ahead, and I can't wait to see what it holds! I know it's hard to say goodbye to the comfort of your first job, but I know that this new job and new path will be so much more fulfilling. Can't wait to follow along as you start this new chapter! Love you, friend!:)
ReplyDeleteThe best is yet to come!
ReplyDeleteWow! Lynn, I can't believe it!!! What brought this on? Did you write about it? I will have to shift back and check. I'm shocked!
