I have been dealing with this for about 3 years now and mean it sucks. I have it down to a science now. I will inevitably be at some sort of event, where the food is served later than I normally eat and I scarf it down and then wait for it... BAM! My stomach explodes to the size of a watermelon and I cannot breathe or stand up. It's pretty much a night blower by all acounts.
It is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life and lasts well until I have emptied the contents of my stomach. Thus, I spend the entire night
It puts me down and out for the count for a couple days after because I'm weak and well just spent. So needless to say, I am just not with it today. My body aches, I'm so tired I'm barely awake. So, if anyone knows what caused my stomach ailment let me know.
Like I said, it has no ryhme or reason, no certain food triggers it, My husband thinks I eat too fast, doctors have told me its fatty foods. I have had every test under the sun... nothing. Meanwhile I just need it to be 5:00pm.
Have you considered getting a food allergy test done? I've been having similar issues, and it could definitely be a gluten allergy (or intolerance) or maybe a dairy intolerance? I've felt the same way after eating gluten - minus the barfing. But everyone's symptoms are different with certain intolerances. I'm sure you've thought of it already, but try googling gluten and dairy intolerances/allergies and see if your symptoms are there. You could also try to cut out what you think may be making you sick and see if you get any relief. If nothing else, take the time and get the food allergy test done!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. Super bummer you can't figure out what bothers you. My mom has been battling something similar recently....
ReplyDeleteThinking of you!

I'm with Shannon on the possible food allergy - particularly gluten. A girlfriend of mine was very sick for years and they could not give her a diagnosis. Until recently. When she was told she is allergic to gluten. Yours may not be as severe as hers, but her life has changed significantly (for the positive) since finding out she is allergic to gluten. Lactose intolerance could also be a factor. I had to give up dairy products last year as they gave me significant IBS-like symptoms and made my stomach distended and hard for days. It was so bad there was concern for a while that I had Crohn's! You could try cutting out dairy and see if that helps. And if not, get tested for food allergies! Good luck! And feel better!
ReplyDeleteOh friend! I have had all sorts of similar stomach issues. I thought it was red meat for a while. Now I am fairly certain I am lactose intolerate. Stomach issues are no fun. Mine used to wake me up at 2 am! I hope you figure it out. Tell me if you do!
