I know I know I was MIA Friday... I was a tad under the weather and worked from home. But today, I am linking up with my girls Neely and Ashley (whom I hung out with last night at Neely's engagement party) to bring you this Sunday Social!


1. Favorite breakfast food - All of them? No seriously, breakfast is my favorite meal! But... if I have to pick one food, its pancakes. I have an obsession with pancakes. I love them!! 
Especially when someone special makes them for me for my birthday!!

2. Best way to spend a free day - laying out by the pool with a good book!
3. Airline ticket to anywhere in the world….where would you go and why? London! I lived there for 6 months my senior year of college and fell in love! I could live there.
4. You can only leave the house with one thing…what is it? Cell phone. I am assuming I can have my car keys to leave...  but phone. I just cannot live without it.
5. How do you take your coffee? Two Truvia (or sweet & low), dash of cinnamon and skim milk! or a skinny latte.

Its Sunday and I am on my to trial!/:( as in excited yay trial, but boo being away from my babies! But let's get social for a bit and forgive me for being a tad MIA this week! But catch up on what Neely is up to this week!

-FRUIT!!! I could live off of it!
-Cookies. Pretty much just a perfect piece of heaven.
-and Thai. Love me some pad thai, curry,  noodles, you name it

- let dogs out
-pee (yeah totally let them go first!)

-let dogs out (see a pattern here)
- give both pups good night kisses/nuzzles

I have not done a Sunday Social in forever! But alas, here I am hopping on the bandwagon again for 2014! So grab some brunch and a mimosa and join in the fun!


1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?

Yes and no. I have a fairly plain diet (leftover from pageant days) and I admit I like it. Its easy, I know what I am eating and how much and it keeps me on track. What I am going to change is my pre and post workout diet. Adding in a shake to enhance the gym.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?

Just before Christmas I was feeling the workout rut and got great advice to add in some HIIT workouts! They have been great!! Quick, easy and done in less than 30 min. And the best part? They kick my booty!

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the Holidays?

Spent time with this guy!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?

Saving money!

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.

- Neely gets married!!! Well because duh, she's getting married!
- 3 of my good friends are having babies! So excited to be Aunt Lynn over and over again.
- My first trial.

I am linking up today for a lil Sunday fun with Neely and Ashley, well because 1) I have not blogged in a while and 2) I'm up and awake this St. Patty's Day!
1. Fav thing to do on a rainy day? Movie & Popcorn!!! and sleep, but I can do that any day rainy or not!
2. Fav thing to do on a summer weekend? If its above 80 degrees you can find me poolside with a book in hand, hat on head and shades on my face! I could spend the whole day laying out getting sun and enjoying a good read.
3. Fav spring accessory? scarf! I love a good light weight scarf to add some color to an outfit and keep me a warm when that cooler breeze blows in at night.
4. Fav way to spend a winter day? Reading with coffee, or outside playing in the snow (not that Texas gets that often...)
5. What is your fav season and why? I would say spring, but Texas tends to skip that one.... I love fall! I love the leaves changing, TCU football, my birthday Halloween, its just well my fav!
6. Best birthday you ever had? Hmm 25 was pretty legit. Ghost Bar, good friends, cute dress and well it was the the last birthday I actually celebrated.

What do you keep beside your bed? Glasses, remote, Bible, pic of hubs and me, and my basal body chart and thermometer (sexy I know)
What is your least favorite chore? trash... ick
If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be? random snacking at say umm 3pm
What do you do to vent anger? Run, or call my mom or BFF and just tell her I need to vent and begin screaming
What is your favorite Holiday of the year and why? Halloween, because I can eat, candy, be whom or whatever I want and don't have to buy any presents!

This week Neely and Amber wanna know what we are thankful for!
I am thankful for a family (real and adopted) that loves me no matter what and supports me through thick and thin.

I am thankful for a job where I am challenged daily and surrounded by colleagues I love!

I am thankful for being in shape! I started doing a bootcamp (to change up my normal gym routine) and loved it! I am improving and making great friends.

I am thankful to be loved by a caring man who thinks the world of me. He loves me unconditionally, supports me, and listens to all my crazy ideas and dreams.

I am thankful for the Lord. He works in mysterious ways. I have seen his power and glory and I am constantly amazed. I know he challenges me but only because he has provided me the strength to endure those challenges.

I am thankful for all you. This blogging adventure has given me not only an outlet for thoughts, but afforded me friendships. I have shared life and love with some of you and feel truly blessed to have done so.

  Have to do a lil blogging while I get ready to head to work this Sunday. Yes, that is my life, Sunday is about being social with those peole I see Monday thru Friday (but hey, I am blessed to have this job I am going to on a Sunday.)

My faith, my family, and my friends

2. What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime and why?

Bluetooth! I can now drive and talk hands free at the same time.

3. What do you think is the secret to a good life?

Being happy with what you have. In our life we are so competative and driven that I think often we forget to be content with the things we have. Look at the life you lead and be happy knowing you have been blessed with life, love, and a job.

4. What would you most like to be remembered for when you're gone?

Always being there for others.

5. What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

graduating law school.

 

6. If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you?

Reese Witherspoon! I love her! (had to steal this from Amber) I have often been told I look like her

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of? Opening my own firm.


2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Still practicing law, hopefully close to making partner. Have 2 kiddos hopefully.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012? Turning 30, TCU beating a couple Big 12 teams and Halloween and Thanksgiving ( I love me some turkey day!)

4. What are your hopes for your blog? To build my following and enjoy it. When it quits being fun, I'm out!

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city? if you are my husband, yes, he says we won't move, just build up... But I would love to move back to Ft Worth but for now our lil suburb works.


6. What is your morning routine?

Mon/Thur

4:55am - alarm goes off, jump out of bed head to gym

5-6:45am - workout, shower, get ready

6:45 - 7:30 - drive to work

7:30-5:30/6/6:30 - work (how long I stay depends on what I have to do)

drive home

T/Wed/Fr

No workout, so up at 6am out the door by 6:45am! repeat the rest

Weekends... workout between 9 am 10am and then I do a little competative sleeping! aka nap till I can't nap no mo!

1. What is the name of your blog and how did you come up with it?? It's kind if self explanatory when you find out I am a blonde, ex-beauty queen lawyer. I like to think of myself as Elle Woods, but with less money and a much cuter dog!

2. What do you love the most about blogging?? The friends I've made. I have found my long-lost blog sister who shares my profession and my birthday, and lots of others in between! I also love having an outlet to talk about things with people.

3. What are your 2 favorite posts you've written? Why I went to Law School and Part 2

4. What is something you'd want to tell someone just starting out in blog world? READ READ READ! The more blogs you read, the more you find and you get ideas! You also find people you share things in common with.

I would say my black Stuart Weitzman peep-toe pumps that I got at DSW for $30! I have had them since 2008 and I live by them.  I have a thing for shoes.

Boho. I'd love to be able to done a long skirt and flowy tops and by free, instead of a slave to my preppy conservative lawyer style.

Well, I love the movie Legally Blonde, and since I am a blonde lawyer, I found ironic!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?


Getting to express myself in a forum that other people enjoy as well as meeting/making new friends.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?


Gemma Kidd Showstopper bronzing lotion. Found it via my friend Jessika at Stand Still Look Pretty. It's ahmazzing, especially when I needed to wear a skirt at work and didn't want to look like Casper.


Facebook or Twitter?


Well, I like Facebook b/c of pictures, but Twitter keeps me posted with real time news, sports, weather...

What is something you want people to know about your blog?


I know that sometimes my posts are boring law related, and for some of you , you have no clue what I'm talking about. I also know my blogs are pretty random sometimes and have no point, but I kind of approach it like this: hmmm what to blog about... oh yeah that sounds cool... Enjoy, but hey I take suggestions!
